Although Kelly was raised in Colorado, she has been living in California for about 10 years now. She has always been a nurturing person and when choosing her college major, psychology seemed to be a natural fit. In 2012, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Kelly then moved to San Diego to obtain her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. During her practicum, she worked with individuals, couples, and families at Catholic Charities and provided support for a wide range of concerns including familial difficulties, life transitions, infidelity, and mood disorders. After graduating, Kelly moved into public mental health and worked with clients with severe mental illness including major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and a history of homelessness. She also worked with individuals with trauma, substance use, and those in crisis. Her trademark became her ability to help her clients develop coping skills to manage their symptoms and difficulties.
After her daughter was born two months early, Kelly became passionate about working with parents and families that did not experience “traditional” pregnancies, births, and early parent life. Kelly sought out and completed specialized training in post-partum mental health as well as third party reproduction. She is excited to help support individuals, couples, and families who are building their family.
